Below are the de-classified documents on the HELIX Research, Safety, and Protection Initiative (HRSPI), able for viewing by all -5 or higher units.
The HRSPI was originally formed in City 14, due to the rising demand of a large UU-funded research program. After its initial success, the HRSPI was spread to City 45, which contributed greatly to the research effort. The following are a list of available research projects. If you would like to assist in any project, ask the HELIX SqL:
Project Virome: Project Virome is a research project dedicated to identifying, understanding, harvesting, and counter-acting the special neurotoxin developed by the Black Virome (research term), or virome (field/radio term). This neurotoxin is somehow capable of searing through even the thickest of kevlar. Once delivered via retractable fangs, the neurotoxin kills its target within only seconds of injection. However, it has sometimes been observed to stay inside of the target and lie dormant until the host's immune system is completely eradicated, followed by a quick death. As of yet, there is no known substance that can cure the neurotoxin. If a Black Virome is encountered in the wild, radio in for immediate reinforcements and a HELIX research team. Do NOT attempt to capture a Black Virome specimen on your own. Once captured using non-lethal methods, the virome is to be brought to the lab and immediately secured. Obviously, tests are to be run to determine the levels of the neurotoxin inside of the virome. If it is at optimal levels (Neurotoxin levels 45-85%), numerous tests are to be run on the neurotoxin itself. Once completed, the tests are to be looked over, and new tests on a cure are to begin.
Necrotic and Parasitic Anatomies: This project is a simple research project into the anatomies and behaviors of the parasitics and their necrotic hosts. Any HELIX unit can partake in this project, and either live or dead subjects can be used.
Insect Domestication Project: The Insect Domestication Project, or the 'ID Project', is basically self-explanatory. If a lone insect is encountered on the field, it is highly recommended to use non-lethal tactics to capture it alive, if at all possible. Once captured, it is to be brought inside of the Nexus, and into the laboratory facilities and safely secured and inspected. If it fails inspection, it is to be immediately terminated in the Disposal Chamber. However, if it passes inspection, it is to be pumped with calm-inducing chemicals. Once the pumping is complete, a special collar is placed around its neck, and the pheromone sensory organs are to be removed from the head and abdomen area (Specifically the area around the upper abdomen, where its nervous center is located). Once completed, it is to be tested using low-level recruits, prisoners, and randomly selected 'volunteers'. If it attacks the recruits as well as the civilians and prisoners, it is to be immediately terminated and is considered a failure. If it attacks only the civilians and not the recruits, then the project is to be considered a success and it will be placed in stasis storage until further notice.
Parasite Domestication Project: The Parasite Domestication Project is essentially the same project as the Insect Domestication Project, except with smaller, just as deadly subjects. A lone parasite, either unattached or attached to a host, must be subdued using non-lethal methods of capture. Once in HELIX custody, the parasitic is to be removed from its old host (Assuming it is not already) and placed into a small confinement area, where numerous tests into the health, fitness, and tamable capabilities using various targets. If it has exceptional traits, the parasite will have a specially desgined collar placed around its body, positioned directly above the beak. This collar works in the same way as a radio, relaying voice commands to the parasite in the form of screeches, clicks, and chirps. It is recommended to use the same procedure as the ID Project, where low-level recruits, prisoners, and randomly selected individuals are used to determine its hostility towards and against the CCA and its targets. If it is deemed 'tamed', the parasite is to be locked into a small stasis container until further notice.
EDIT by Doctor B. Haslim of the City 14 HRSPI: I have received written permission from Dr. Breen himself allowing all HRSPI Facilities to begin testing the parasites with new hosts, and he has even allowed the use of deceased CCA Officers as well as deceased low-ranking OTA Soldiers. I have already cleared it with the City Administrators of City 08, as well as City 45. I am still attempting to contact the City 18 Administrator, but I have received no responses.
EDIT by Doctor Jacqueline Murris of the City 08 HRSPI: I've implemented a new technology into the collar. Normally, a parasite attached to a host would only be able to speak in gibberish, with small bits of relevant language coming up here and there. With the new collar design, however, the necrotic will be able to speak (Although it still needs a lot of work done.) much more clearly. I have attached below two audio transcripts as examples.

TITLE: Normal Necrotic Speak
Host: Caucasian Male, Unknown Age
Stage of Transformation: Advanced
Location: City 08 Laboratories
Test Administrator: Doctor J. Murris
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Transcript:
Doctor J: "Necrotic, speak."
*The sound of an electrical bolt is heard, most likely directed at the Necrotic*
Necrotic: "Aggh! Rawwaaaar! OOOG EMm TEELL.. Snrub ti! AWWGGH!"
*The Necrotic would continue to wail at the beginning of the Doctor's speech*
Doctor J: "Necrotic, speak now!"
*Another electrical bolt would be heard, and the searing of the Necrotic's skin is heard as a loud sizzle*
Necrotic: "Uuugh! Leet stop!"
*The Necrotic would fall silent for a few moments, and then continue to wail*
Doctor J: "Good. Thank you. Alright, Jefferson, take it back to the chamber."
*The sound of footsteps going away from the recording device and getting closer to the wailing would be heard*

Project X: Project Extermination, or 'Project X', is a restricted project that only -3 HELIX units are allowed to be informed of. For security matters, its files are locked. Only the HELIX SqL may discuss this project freely.
EDIT by HRSPI Head of Research Doctor H. Yeng of City 14: I don't even want whispers of this! I've already heard some recruits talking about it down in the mess hall. From now on, anyone even mentioning Project X without my approval will be detained indefinitely. I'm also updating the files with a new lock signature, so that lock will no longer be tampered with.
